Project Description

The challenge for this appointment was managing the multiple interfaces to multiple sites which we approached by appointing our “Control Tower” team to implement the system wide strategy.

Our team deployed our in-house delivery management system (iCLik) which was able to control deliveries from suppliers, subcontractors and wholesalers to each of the Crossrail vertical shafts and railheads at Royal Oak Portal in the West and Plumstead Portal in the East. Our Delivery Management System sat beneath the Crossrail VMPS and enabled us to communicate with the supply chain in a clear and effective way.

To minimise disruption and environmental impact from these deliveries, we consolidated materials delivered from Greenford, thereby reducing the number of vehicles making just-in-time deliveries to site.

We were able to deliver to each of the Central London sites out of hours and provided this service 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
